Coalition say care about disabled when they do not

COALITION PROMOTE THAT THEY CARE ABOUT DISABLED TO NATIONS ABROAD WHEN LEAVING DISABLED PEOPLE DESTITUTE AT HOME

A report by the Commons International Development Committee has praised efforts by international development ministers to promote disabled rights.

But further said the Committee should use Britain's international influence to prevent the disabled people remaining the poorest of the poor and facing appalling abuse.

It is hard to believe that politicians are portraying the UK has caring about the poor disabled, when the experience of hundreds and thousands of disabled people in the UK is exactly the opposite.

What disabled rights, when so many are sanctioned off benefits and the cruel assessment procedure that Atos has mostly run away from, other than for the new disability benefit, Personal Independence Payments.

WELFARE REFORM HAS HIT OLD SICK AND DISABLED HARD

Half of women aged 60-66 are within the working poor, on wages flat-lined to 2002 levels.

The Bedroom Tax hits pensioners if one partner is below the raised retirement age, especially for women losing over half a decade of state pension payout (around £43,000 over 6 years).

Housing and welfare benefit cap hits those deemed to still be of working age, by the rise in retirement age.

The majority reasons women aged 60-66 are not in work is due to disability / chronic sick and these benefits being lost or never gained.

Without state pension, cannot access Winter Fuel Allowance.

Without benefits, cannot access Cold Weather Payment.

The Pension Bill was bad enough.

Worse is to come with the Flat Rate Pension, that is not more pension but less or nil money in old age altogether. With the end of Pension Credit, SERPs and State Second Pension, so less additional pension that you might have hoped.
