Citizen Wage £1,750 per month For All

WEALTH FOR POLITICIANS, STARVATION FOR MILLIONS OF US

UK is the sixth richest nation on earth.

Yet the English Democrats (good mates with the Scottish Nationalist Party and about the same as Plaid Cymru, but right wing) election campaign blurb European Election in May says:

The Economic Recovery

We all welcome the recovery that is underway. But why has it taken so long? Why will we still be suffering austerity for many years?

TORIES
Had the Chancellor in 2010 decided to cut the current expenditure overspend over 5 years whilst maintaining capital expenditure there would have been an outcry.

But growth would have been accelerated by at least a year.

This means that:

  • 2014 would be our third year of significant growth,
  • unemployment would have be much lower,
  • the economy would now be larger than in 2008 and
  • we would not be facing years of austerity.

LABOUR
Gordon Brown failed in his primary duty of maintaining public finances.

Chancellors are supposed to borrow money during a recession when tax revenues fall and fail to cover the increase in welfare costs.

Then when growth returns they are supposed to run a surplus to pay back the debt as tax receipts increase and welfare costs decline.

This he failed to do leaving the incoming Chancellor with a knotty problem. Did Osborne get the best solution?

TORIES
If you cut capital expenditure and raise VAT you automatically reduce future growth.

But that is what the Osborne did!

In a recession you need to ensure your capital expenditure is keeping local people in work.

RISE IN RETIREMENT AGE LOST JOBS BY THE THOUSANDS IN UK

The rise of retirement age burdened cash-strapped business and public sector, by putting more costs on employers of National Insurance, paying longer into works pension, extra wage costs at top grade, and all the other costs of employing staff.

To gain your state pension payout, you can still remain in your job or work elsewhere.

Rising the retirement age, gave government the opportunity to deprive the 1950s Baby Boomer generation (and their children and grandchildren on into the future forever) of any state pension at all by the Flat rate (Single Tier) Pension 2016, that leaves millions with little or no pension and so no income in old age:

ECONOMY MADE WORSE BY POLITICIANS

The poor have only 3 vouchers in a year for food banks, when abroad the state provides daily canteens with a cooked hot meal and hot drink every day of the week.

And these daily soup kitchens (manned and paid for by local government as well as churches) are mostly used by the majority of the poor, who are the low waged and pensioners, just as they are in the UK, with only less than 3 per cent of UK welfare budget going on unemployed.

Figures show that 1 in 11 people in the UK have less than around £10 a month money left over after bills. This came from the Money Advice Service in 2013.

Politicians say wages have risen, but cut out from these figures all the millions who have seen a wage cut, the rise of the zero hour contract, the self-employed and missed out all the benefit and tax changes, that have especially hit women.

Further, the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS) say that real wages (wages against cost of living) have fallen around £1,600 a year since 2010.

Furthermore, the IFS showed families are worse off on average around £900 a year due to tax and benefit changes since 2010, which have impacted women the most.

SWITZERLAND REFERENDUM WON FOR BASIC INCOME FOR ALL ITS ADULT CITIZENS

In Switzerland a referendum by its citizens succeeded in working towards an unconditional basic income for all its citizens of £1,750 per month.

Source:

WHAT WOULD THIS ACHIEVE IN AUSTERITY AND WELFARE REFORM OBSESSED ENGLAND?

By giving all UK adult citizens this £1,750 Citizen Wage, in or out of work and however old and:

  • Revoking the Welfare Reform Act,
  • Revoke Pension Bill (all of them)
  • Revoke Flat Rate (Single Tier) Pension 2016, and
  • 1975 law that guaranteed pensions brought back, revoked by the Tories in 1993 and never brought back by Labour

Money would pour into our recession-hit economy and generate thousands of jobs and bring the nation out of recession overnight.

By everyone having some basic money for food and fuel and accommodation costs, there would be no reason to have the following:

- Jobcentres closed down

- End of Department of Work and Pensions and Minister for same

- End of all parliamentary committees on work and pensions

- End of all private contracts costing billions around cutting benefits

- End of minimum wage being far below a living wage

- A huge increase in receipts from the 75 per cent of income for government that come from Indirect Taxes and VAT, even on food.

- People would feel safe in starting a little self employed business or working part-time

- Rich people giving more to charities helping UK people and politicians would give the money also to UK charities helping people in England.

- Offsets nil pay rises and only 1% rise for such as nurses and doctors in the NHS

- Leaves none to starve, freeze in their homes or bin-dip from dustbins for food whilst sleeping rough

- End councils criminalising the homeless sleeping rough and those who feed the homeless as in London (back to 19th century debtor prisons and the New Poor Law that forbade people and parish from giving food to the starving passed by the Tories and Liberals (now called Lib Dems))

- Save lives of the disabled and chronic sick and poor pensioners

THE SWANS OFFER THIS AND A LOT MORE SOCIAL JUSTICE AND REAL SOLUTIONS TO THE ECONOMY INSTEAD OF WASTE ON WELFARE REFORM (AKA END OF WELFARE STATE), LOSS OF MONEY TO PENSIONERS THAT KILLS 30,000 A YEAR FROM FUEL POVERTY

This is what The Swans new party would offer the UK (or England and Wales if Scotland goes independent after 18 September 2014 referendum).

As well as:

- Basic tax Allowance of £14,000

- Tax Allowance at 60 of £15,500

- £500 Winter Fuel Allowance at 60 winter 2015/2016

THE SWANS WOULD ENSURE END OF AUSTERITY AND END OF WELFARE STATE OPPOSITE THE REAL NEW SOCIALIST PARTIES IN LONDON PARLIAMENT

With new socialist party (or parties in coalition) and The Swans the only parties in parliament in London from 2015 general election, millions of lives would be saved from the torture inflicted on them and costing billions, as more need NHS care.

Why vote for current political class denying what they are doing is direct cause of starvation and deaths from fuel poverty, and then taking an 11 per cent pay rise in 2015 general election year, that is around the £7,500 state pension and pension credit, being denied to millions forever?
